In what continues to be an uncertain time in terms of delivering community projects, West London Community CIC have continued to deliver the Sky Try project in and around West London.

Since September 2020 the Community staff have still managed to coach over 500 Primary school pupils and the support provided to schools has been very well received. Under the current lockdown their normal delivery programme has been suspended but they have continued to offer our support to schools where possible. Because of this West London Community have already had lots of interest from schools and the diary is starting to fill up.

The London Broncos will proudly display the logo of the CIC on the sleeve of their 2021 first team match Jerseys and are also pleased to confirm that West London Community will become a Corporate player sponsor too.

Well-being Wednesday

Community manager John Keyes explains just one of the ways the CIC are assisting Schools with a project they call ‘Well-being Wednesday.

He told us “We received a call for help from West Acton Primary School . The school are currently supporting the children of Key Workers and vulnerable children, this also includes children in their Additional Resourced Provision and were keen to get some different faces in and deliver some physical activity.

“On Wednesday 27th January our community coaching team attended West Acton and delivered some much needed Rugby based fun and engaging sessions for the pupils which went down really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”

Karen Kondo, Head teacher at West Acton Primary said

‘These past few weeks have been challenging for the whole school community – pupils, parents and staff and we wanted to create a Wellbeing Wednesday. For those at home, this was of course non screen based activities. In school,  we wanted our children to be outside moving around as much as possible so I called John and asked if he could he help us.”

She added “The children had a fantastic time with the Rugby Coaches and the day was just what they needed – exercise, team work and fun. Thank you!”
