Former London Broncos Winger Iliess Macani has re-joined the Club on a 2 year contract to become Head Coach Jermaine Coleman’s third signing for 2022.

Macani, who made his Broncos debut in 2013 against St Helens was a graduate of the Clubs Academy system and went on to play 68 games for the Broncos with 26 tries.

The Tottenham born player more recently played for the London Skolars following spells at Bradford and Sheffield.

Iliess was pleased to be back with his old Club and told Broncos Media that he wants to give back to the Club that gave him his first opportunity.

He said “It is a huge pleasure to be back at the Broncos, the Club means so much to me having started my Professional career here. I feel a responsibility to do my absolute best and to help the Club get back to where it used to be.”

“I’m honoured to be given this opportunity to come back to this amazing Club and to right some wrongs for myself whilst getting the Club back up and challenging for success.”

Macani was also quick to mention the wider game in the South, his own route to Professional Rugby League.

He told us “Nowhere near enough light is shone on the South when it comes to Rugby League and I take this to heart because I know just what there is to offer down here.”

“It is an amazing place, filled with talent that has so much to give, and all I want to do now is play well and help some of those younger talents come through and contribute to the game of Rugby League in London.”

Speaking earlier this week ahead of his International commitments Coleman was full of praise for his latest signing, a player he knows very well from his time at the Skolars.

He said “Iliess has one of the best attitudes of any player I have had the pleasure of working with. His desire to push himself to the maximum and get those around him playing to their best levels is what makes him such a great character in any group.”

Coleman added “He is blessed with fantastic footwork and a huge appetite to be successful. He will bring leadership and experience to the group.”
