London Broncos are delighted to announce that Jarred Bassett, sponsored by West Warriors, has agreed an extension to stay at the club for the 2024 season.
The 31 year old Australian has enjoyed an extraordinary rise in the game in recent years moving from amateur side West Warriors in the Southern Conference, via London Skolars and now to the Super League in consecutive seasons.
After making the step up to the Championship last season scoring 17 tries, London Broncos Director of Rugby & Performance Mike Eccles is now looking forward to seeing Bassett complete his story by playing in the Super League;
“His incredible story continues and I’m delighted to give him the opportunity to play in the Super League next season.
“It’s a remarkable story to progress from League 1 to the Championship and now the Super League back to back. It’s never or rarely been done before!
“I am now looking forward to seeing his continued development at the next level. He’s a big figure in the team, likeable character and huge crowd favourite.”
Speaking on his contract renewal, Bassett can’t wait to pull on the Broncos jersey again next season;
“I am looking forward to going around again with the London Broncos. I have enjoyed my first year and learnt a lot and I am hoping next year I can go to another level!”
