The RFL has today confirmed the 2017 Academy fixtures, and all but one of London’s under 19s home games coincide with a first team match, meaning nine double headers for the club in 2017.
The Academy will open the 2017 season at home on Sunday 12 February, facing Castleford Tigers at 12pm, ahead of the first team clash with newly relegated Hull KR at 3pm.
Head coach, Jamie Langley, is very happy with how the 2017 fixture pans out: “Nine double headers is fantastic for the young lads. Not only does it mean a larger crowd watching our home Academy games and cheering us on, but the first team will also be there to support the boys.
“It also provides great inspiration for our Academy – staying around and watching the first team games afterwards provides a clear cut example of what can be achieved in a rugby league career with hard work and dedication.”
