London Broncos are delighted to announce that Colin Baker has returned to the club in accepting the position of Under 16 Head Coach with immediate effect.

Colin has a vast experience within the game, both locally and further afield, and it is a massive positive for the club and specifically the Scholarship programme that he is back on board at London Broncos.

Baker will be in charge of planning and delivering the Scholarship rugby sessions utilising the current pool of coaches already on the programme. He will also lead on match days for the seven Under 16 matches.

Colin has previously held the full time position of Player Performance Manager with us along with a number of coaching roles including Head Coach of the Under 16s and Under 18s. He was also an assistant to current First Team Head Coach,Danny Ward, with the Under 19s.

Away from the Broncos Colin has a broad knowledge of both community and performance coaching having worked with children, adolescents and adults.

Baker said, ” Its great to be back at London Broncos. I enjoyed my time here before and its great to be involved with such a talented bunch of Youngsters. Danny Ward and I go way back and I am happy to be a part of his coaching staff.”

Head of Youth Development, Rob Powell, said, “Colin has a real understanding of the local talent pool having coached at the likes of London Skolars, Hemel Stags and North Herts Crusaders.”

“From a performance point of view Colin is experienced in delivering programmes in various settings, most recently as Head Coach of England Universities which culminated with a World Cup in Australia in 2017. Colin will be an asset to the club and we look forward to him getting started with the scholarship programme in the coming weeks.”
