The London Broncos Academy system has been very much the talking point of this years Rugby League Season so far. Players from our Academy are currently playing, not only in London, but in teams throughout the country. With young Academy players such as Lewis Bienek,Matt Davis, James Meadows, Sam Davis, Rob Butler, Jacob Ogden and Dan Hindmarsh, all currently playing in the Championship for our first team, the Academy continues to go from strength to strength.
The Under 19 Academy programme is on the pathway to becoming a full time professional rugby league player with the squad training three times a week, on week nights, between 1800-2100.
There are 22 competitive fixtures this season in a structured league between February and August. This includes home and away fixtures against all the Super League Under 19 Academies and the squad has started this season strongly beating Warrington Wolves, Widnes Vikings and Bradford Bulls
The players in the Academy squad are paid and classed as part time professional players
The whole academy (Under 16 Scholarship and Under 19s Academy) was accredited last year where the overall rating was ‘GOOD’. This placed the club alongside Super League academies such as Castleford Tigers and above many others.
