Broncos academy upgraded for second consecutive year

The London Broncos academy rating has been upgraded for the second year running, moving to the status of a “good” academy, alongside clubs such as Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants and Bradford Bulls.

Awarded by the independent accreditation, this is a reward for the commitment of the club to continue to invest in the academy and the strength of the plan, programme and environment provided. Players and parents are very positive, and the athletes from London have the potential to go onto higher levels.

Links with partners have been established and all rugby league stakeholders have clear communication about player progress. There is a holistic approach to development, including player welfare, which the players benefit from.

Head of Youth, Rob Powell, commented that the second upgrade in as many years is a fantastic reflection of the importance the club places on developing London youth.

“We are pleased that our overall rating has been upgraded for the second consective year and that we are now recognised as a GOOD academy. This is a reward for the hard work that goes on by all the staff behind the scenes and commitment the club has shown in continuing to support the program both financially and through the emphasis the leaders within the club place on it.

“We will continue to move forward and make the improvements required to produce an even better program for our players to give them the best possible chance to become Super League standard players of the future.”
