Broncos commitment to youth is repaid

London Broncos are delighted to announce the new contract extensions signed by four first team and former London Academy players.

Chairman, David Hughes, CEO, Jason Loubser and Head Coach Danny Ward have been working behind the scenes to secure signatures of some of the current squad for the 2019 season and beyond.

Rob Butler has now put pen to paper on a new 2-year deal and Danny Ward said,” Rob is well ahead of where we expected him to be and he has really thrived in his first year in the full-time environment. We are all excited to see him develop further, especially when he gets his “man” strength. He is a great kid with an excellent attitude.”

Young hooker Sam Davis is the next in line to stay at London and Danny said, ” Sam is a tough kid who has a lot of the quality traits of his elder brother Matt. He will give you everything and has the attitude that he wants to improve in every session and game alike.” Sam has signed a three-year contract to keep him here until 2021.

Jacob Ogden has also put pen to paper and is an exciting talent as Ward said, ” Although he has only featured a couple of times he has come in and done very well when called upon in the first team. We are very happy with Jacob and are more than happy to reward his effort with a new two-year contract. He has been gaining a lot of experience out on dual reg at Coventry Bears this year. He is powerful, quick and built like a microwave!”

The next player in the list is Sadiq Adebiyi who has been a regular fixture in the first team this season and has signed a two-year deal.

Ward said, “We have seen a lot of improvement with Sid this year and he has become a regular name on the squad sheet for me. He is a strong and dynamic ball carrier who has been around the first team for quite a while now. We look forward to seeing more of the direct runs that he is becoming known for amongst the fans.”

Chairman David Hughes said,” It is a testament to the Coaching staff here at London Broncos and the entire Academy set up we have that we can bring through so many talented young players. The pathway that this club provides to our young players is first rate and we hope that we can continue to produce as talented players as the four who have just re-signed for the club.”

News of other re-signings are imminent too so watch out for more announcements.
