Broncos open 2016 against touring Yowies

In a rugby codes double header, the London Broncos will play their first game of the year on Saturday 23 January, against touring indigenous side Yowies Rugby League.

Kicking off at 5:30pm, the friendly will be the first game for the Broncos at their new home ground of Trailfinders Sports Club in Ealing, and a great opportunity to see what Andrew Henderson’s newly assembled squad have in store for 2016.

The Yowies, hailing from Newcastle in NSW, Australia, is a sports association that has been established for over 20 years, encouraging indigenous participation in rugby league, netball and cricket, amongst other sports.

Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club will open the day, kicking off at 2pm against Moseley. To re-fuel post match, a curry with rice and popadoms will be served between 4-5pm, along with an interview with Head Coach Andrew Henderson and any players not involved in the team playing on the day. At 5:30pm, the Broncos will take to the field. The price of the meal is £9 – to secure your place please email [email protected]

Adult tickets for both games are £15 if booked in advance here, by Tuesday the 19th of January, or £20 on the day before 3.30pm. After 3:30, adult tickets are £10, £5 concession, and children 16 and under go free.

Parking on the day will be £5.
