Broncos suffer Slyney blow

London Broncos have suffered a blow with the news that co-captain Nick Slyney will be out of action following surgery.

Slyney will miss 2-3 months after surgery to repair his pectoral muscle. The injury was sustained in round 2 of the Kingstone Press Championship when he left the field after just five minutes.

Interim head coach Andrew Henderson said: “It’s disappointing to lose a quality player in our co-captain for this period, however it gives an opportunity to one of our young London kids to step up.

“I will be evaluating the squad in the coming weeks and strengthening areas within the squad where needed. Hopefully Glenn Riley will be returning from injury soon to add some experience to the pack.”

The Broncos face Workington Town on Sunday 8th March, kick-off 3pm at The Hive. For tickets visit https://www.venuetoolbox.com/londonbroncos and use ‘EARLYBIRD-WORKINGTON‘ for 20% off adult tickets when purchasing in advance.
