Broncos to hold Player Pathway Development day

London Broncos will be hosting an England Talent Pathway player development day on 18th May at Trailfinders Sports Club between 1000-1200. This provides any boys in Year 7 or 8 the opportunity for a coaching session delivered by London Broncos professional rugby coaches. The session will involve skills, games and elements of functional movement.
It will be open to anybody in Year 7 and 8 whether they are currently playing rugby league at either school/community club or not at all.

Alongside the session there will be a presentation for parents to discuss the pathway for rugby league in London

The ETP programme represents one of the first rungs on the pathway for players in Rugby League.

Players at community clubs play in the London Junior League at Under 13, 14 and 16. There is also a London Rugby League Origin series for players selected from their community clubs to represent either North or South of the river in a two game series held in September at Under 14, under 15 and under 17 level. The Origin series is one tool used to inform selections into the London Broncos Academy Programmes.

The Broncos run a full RFL Academy with two squads (Under 16 Scholarship and Under 19s Academy) In the most recent RFL accreditation the overall rating was ‘GOOD’.

Both squads share the facility with the First team and includes field training sessions on the 4G pitch as well as gym based sessions in the first class strength and conditioning suite.

The scholarship programme is made up of twenty Year 10 and twenty Year 11 players from London and the South East. They train once or twice a week between November and August and play 8 fixtures between February and August against other Super League clubs.

The Under 19 Academy programme is the next rung on the pathway to becoming a full-time professional rugby league player and the squad train three times a week between November and September
They play 22 competitive fixtures this season in a structured league between February and August. This includes home and away fixtures against all the Super League Under 19 Academies. At this level the players in the Academy squad are paid and classed as part-time professional players.
