Broncos to hold Reserves Trial.

What: London Broncos Reserve Grade Trials
When: Friday 11th October 19.00 – 21.00
Where: Trailfinders Sports Club, Ealing, W13 0DD
Who: Anyone with a birth date before 1st September 2001

The London Broncos will be holding an Open Trial for its new Reserve Grade side on Friday 11th October at Trailfinders Sports Club.

The Reserve Grade squad will be made up of paid part time professionals contracted to London Broncos and will play 18 games in a structured league. First team squad players will be included in the match day squads alongside the Reserves squad players.

The squad will share the facility with the First team, Academy & Scholarship and the programme includes both field training sessions on the 4G pitch (so you will need boots (no metal studs) for the trial) as well as gym based sessions in the first class strength and conditioning suite.

The trial is open to anyone currently playing Rugby League and also players who think they would be suited to rugby league from other sports.

The Rugby Football League and Super League Europe confirmed in July that a Reserve Grade competition would be relaunched in 2020. The 11 English Betfred Super League clubs approved a proposal for all Super League clubs, and clubs with Category 1 funded Academies outside Super League (Widnes Vikings and Bradford Bulls), to have a mandated reserve team. London Broncos were at that time in Super League. The launch of Reserve Grade will be accompanied by a change in the regulations surrounding the Academy, which will now become an Under-18s competition rather than Under-19s, as at present.

London Broncos Head of Youth Development, Rob Powell, said, “The Reserves will be really positive for the club as it was when it existed previously. It provides a stepping stone between the Academy and the first team, gives more players an opportunity and allows us to spend more time developing players in our own environment. We are really excited to get cracking with it”

Should you wish to trial please contact Head of Youth Development, Rob Powell, at [email protected] , for the registration form, which MUST be sent back to the same email address by Tuesday 8th October.
