Andrew Henderson will take his side on the short journey to north London to face off against the League 1 London Skolars on Saturday 30 January 3pm.
The ‘London Clash’ is sure to be a hotly contested affair, both sides overcame turmoil at the start of their respective 2015 campaigns to finish the season strongly. During the off season, both teams have solidified even further with extremely proactive recruitment.
For London Rugby League fans this will be the first opportunity to see many of both clubs’ new signings, as well as future stars, in action. Adding to the already competitive nature of the encounter is the multitude of players who have featured for both sides, including Will Lovell, Rob Thomas, Dave Williams and John Wallace, who will be looking to get one over on friends and former teammates.
It doesn’t stop there – this season the clubs don’t just share players, but also kit manufacturers. Kappa is the creator of both teams’ playing strips, and this will be an opportunity to see both new jerseys in the flesh prior to the 2016 season commencing.
With the game taking place at New River Stadium during what is usually a wet and windy month, conditions shouldn’t play too much of a factor, as the ground has a relatively new 4G pitch, allowing all the quality players on show ample opportunity to display exactly what they can do.
