London Broncos have again picked up the Award for Community Project of the Year at this years Championship & League One Awards night.
Winning the award for the second time in three seasons is a fantastic achievement for John Keyes, his staff and the amazing work they do throughout London and specifically throughout the London Borough of Ealing.
John told us, “When I got the call on Monday night to say we had won the award I was delighted. To win this award twice in 3 years is amazing and to think that we only started less than 3 years ago.
Having been involved in Community work across London for the last 10 years, I am somewhat surprised when people think these projects are all about sport or dancing. Inspiring young people and raising their aspiration levels is at the heart of our delivery programmes and that goes from Primary Schools to mentoring young offenders. This particular award could not have been won without the outstanding support we receive from Stuart Weston and the Featherstone School Sports Partnership.
We have had amazing support from people right across the club and when your 1st team players are delivering Numeracy booster classes , that’s when you get the right response from the participants.
Here’s to what has been a great year in Community Broncos and we are looking forward to continuing to use Rugby League to make a difference in peoples lives.”
