London Broncos Head Coach, Danny Ward, last night started to round of what is turning out to be a great season for the first year of his tenure.
With the Broncos sitting sixth in the current Super 8’s Qualifiers table there are 16 possible outcomes to the season for the Capital side.
Ward carried off the Championship Head Coach of the Year Award at the end of season awards dinner held at the Principal Hotel in Manchester on Tuesday night beating off strong competition from Halifax Head Coach, Richard Marshall and Toulouse Olympique Head Coach, Sylvain Houles.
Ward said, “It’s fantastic you know. It’s always nice to win awards and that but I have to say it’s a credit to all the staff. To Jamie Langley my assistant, to all the strength and conditioning boys especially Mike Eccles and Danny Mays. To all the medical staff and Dan Watson and his team and of course to all the players as they are the ones who have contributed the most on the field and performed the way that I have wanted them to.”
Ward went on to say, “It’s great to get the recognition but this award is for everyone here at London Broncos.”
The Broncos now have one final Qualifier to play on Saturday 29th September when Halifax RLFC visit Trailfinders Sports ground.
Ward told us, ” Halifax are a very strong side and are always a handful whether at the Shay or away from home. We wont be taking them lightly and just hope the boys here can do their jobs and who knows where we may end up.”
