Matt Davis has been named captain of the London Broncos Under 19s side, while Oli Toms has been named vice-captain.
Davis (pictured right), 18, joined the club from the Midlands Academy at the end of 2014 and trained with the first team at the end of the 2014 season. He recently made the move from Leicester to London to be closer to the club’s Under 19s training facility. He previously played at Leicester Storm.
“His professionalism and attitude have been exemplary from the start and sets a great example to the lads in everything he does,” said U19s head coach Danny Ward. “Matt’s a back-row and hopefully will be pushing for a shot in the first team during the coming season.”
Toms, 19, joined the club at Under 15s level and is currently in his third year of the Academy set-up. He originally began playing for Hemel Stags at under 12s level.
“Toms is a popular figure among his team-mates and has really developed as a player in the last 12 months,” continued Ward. “Like Davis he’s a back-rower with a great attitude and professionalism on and off the field.
“Toms will also be looking to push for a first team spot throughout the season ahead.”
