Goodwin’s side to face Wigan U16s

Huw Goodwin has named his side for scholarship’s home clash with Wigan this Sunday.

The under 16s follow on from the first team’s game against Batley, kicking off at 17:30pm.

After suffering a very narrow loss at the hands of Hull in round three, the young side are looking to make amends, says head of youth, Rob Powell.

“The game against Hull was tough to take for the boys – we were winning 16-10 with only five minutes remaining, but Hull were able to find a way to win.

“It was a good lesson for the players. We need to be able to close the game out but also capitalise on our chances to put the opposition out of reach. We are looking forward to the boys putting what we’ve learned into practice on the field on Sunday.

“Playing at home after the first team is a great opportunity for our young side, and we would encourage as many supporters as possible to stick around and back our boys.”
