London Broncos Rugby League head coach Joey Grima says he was disappointed by his side’s pre-season friendly loss to Dewsbury on Sunday.
The Broncos were defeated 34-6 in a one-sided affair at the Tetley’s stadium.
“We had a really good week of preparation and we had arguably our best available side on the pitch,” Grima told Broncos TV.
“To come away with a loss like that was frustratingly disappointing. Today we got beaten by the environment and conditions, a lot of the players aren’t used to playing Championship and it’s not a lack of disrespect as we always knew it would be hard.
“It was a disappointing end to our trial series but I think some people had a reality check today.”
Grima praised Dewsbury for their enthusiasm and energy in the game and highlighted his own side’s lack of structure, simple errors and frustration.
“We’ll do some video, we’ll work our where we went wrong and what we need to do to fix it. The players put their hands up and are embarrassed by the situation.”
