Hat-trick hero Thomas praises team-mates for tries

Hat-trick hero Oscar Thomas says the team laid the platform for him to score at Summer Bash and he wants the team need the same attitude next Sunday against Bradford Bulls.

The Broncos played their best game of the season and defeated Sheffield Eagles 46-6 in front of a carnival crowd in Blackpool and 21-year-old Thomas topped off a hat-trick of tries with the man of the match performance on Sky Sports.

“The performance was definitely needed coming off a few tough weeks,” said Thomas. “I think going on towards the back end of the season we need to keep more consistency in our performances so we can reach the play-offs.

“It’s good to have those sorts of games where you get tries but the boys set the platform for me, I just finished them off.

“It’s good to have games like that on a big stage as it helps the teams up their game. We can enjoy the win over the rest of the weekend and come back to training and prepare for a big game against Bradford and we need the two points again. If we come out with the same attitude again, start well and get points on the board the game will take care of itself.

“I did have a bit of banter with someone on Twitter and said I would get a hat-trick but I didn’t actually think it would happen.”
