Henderson disappointed after Halifax loss

Head coach and player Andrew Henderson was left disappointed after losing 46-22 to Halifax on Saturday evening.

The Broncos were blown away in the first half by Halifax who led 30-6 at half time, and despite improving in the second half the game was already won for the home side.

The loss for Henderson’s team puts a serious dent in the Broncos hopes of finishing in a top four spot.

“Disappointing is an understatement,” said Henderson. “We were far from good enough enough today and I have to give credit to Halifax, after minute one it was one-way traffic. We had a great start, a dream start with an early score then it was all Halifax.

“I’m disappointed, as a group and a team we’ve turned ourselves around. We’ve had a pretty ordinary start to the year and these last five or six games we’ve come together and build a bit of momentum and ascendancy and given ourselves a realistic chance of finishing top four.

“We were out-enthused, they ran harder and executed better, they kicked better, in all facets of the game they were better than us.”
