Henderson names 19-man squad

Interim head coach Andrew Henderson has named his squad for Sunday’s round 4 Kingstone Press Championship game against Workington Town at The Hive (kick-off 3pm).

Included in the squad for the second week running are Jarrod Sammut (dual reg) and Tom Gilmore (one-month loan) and Henderson says they are settling in well.

“We have Jarrod back with us on dual registration and he’s had another week under belt and is forming good partnership with Tom Gilmore in the halves,” said Henderson. “Harvey Burnett earns spot into the 19 having impressed against London Skolars in pre-season and last week for Skolars on dual registration.

“Training has gone well this week, there’s a really positive vibe and the players are very upbeat, I’m encouraged after the performance in large parts of the game against Leigh. We’re excited about being back at The Hive on Sunday with our own fans as we aim to make it two from two at home.

“Workington are tough team with good players; notably Brett Phillips and Jarrad Stack and coach Phil Veivers has them well organised with a good structure. We need to be very good to beat them on Sunday and I’m confident our preparation this week will put us in a good position.”
