Andrew Henderson has named his 19 man side to face Featherstone Rovers in the Challenge Cup round four clash this weekend.
The two sides last met in the 2015 Championship Shield final, with Featherstone eventual victors 36-4, and will face each other again only nine days later when the Rovers return for round seven of the Kingstone Press Championship.
Head coach, Andrew Henderson, said though the team is different to any he has previously selected this year, it shouldn’t come as a surprise – London are yet to put out an unchanged side in 2016.
“I have been making changes each week mainly based on individual performance. The players understand this and know what is expected of them. Again I have done so for this week, however some players have been given the break to get over some niggles and freshen up ahead of a tough Easter period. It’s important with four games to be played in 14 days that we keep the players fresh, and use our strength in depth with the quality players in our squad to allow this.
“I told the players from the start that it will take a whole squad effort if we are to achieve what we have set out to achieve. Everyone will have their role to play no matter how small or big it is. For some, it starts this week.
“We are focused on producing a strong team performance on Saturday and I’m looking for the players to give me a selection headache for next week. We are aware Featherstone are a quality side and Jon Sharpe has his team playing some good football. We need to be a lot better than last week if we are to get the result. It should be a cracking cup tie, hopefully we will continue the winning momentum and be in the draw for the next round.”
