London Broncos head coach Andrew Henderson has spoken of his pride after his young side produced one of the performances of the season to overcome Workington Town 50-10 at The Hive on Sunday afternoon.
William Barthau kicked seven of nine conversions goals and scored a try while skipper James Cunningham scored two of the Broncos nine tries.
“I’m very proud today, very proud as a coach today,” said Henderson after the match. “I’m proud of my players. We’re a very young team and obviously we’ve been doing it tough in recent weeks with the amount of injuries and the amount of people having to play out of position.
“I’m really pleased for the team as we have been a dark place and a tough place and we’ve been copping a lot of flak, and rightly so to some degree. Today for me was probably the best team performance that this side has produced all season and that’s including the Summer Bash and the Leigh game.”
The Broncos are back at home for the final home game of the season, and final game at The Hive this Sunday 13th September against Batley Bulldogs 3pm.
