Henderson’s 19 to face Bulldogs

Andrew Henderson has named his 19 for Sunday’s all important Super 8s home clash with Batley Bulldogs, with one new face in the side. Lewis Bienek, wearing jersey number 34, makes the step up from academy to first team.

A massive game for both sides, a win would inch both Championship teams closer to their Super League competitors.

“Sunday’s game is huge for both teams and an opportunity to take a step closer to promotion. Batley have defied the odds and had an incredible Championship season in 2016, which is a credit to both John Kear and his playing group. They are a physical, disciplined and competitive team. Respectfully we know we will have to play well to beat them,” commented Henderson.

“We’ve focussed on ourselves again this week, worked hard on our concentration levels and fixing some minor parts of our game from the weekend. Most importantly we have identified maintaining our standards regarding our attitude and commitment to the team, and playing with the intent and purpose needed to earn a win. We saw that in abundance in our game against Leigh, and I have every confidence in the team’s ability to back that up.

“We have proved we are capable of competing with the best of the best in this competition, but understand we need to concentrate, be patient and be disciplined for 80 minutes in order to secure victory. I’m sure Sunday will be a tough and exciting contest between two good teams who have high ambition and aspirations.”
