London Broncos is delighted to finally announce the signing of Mitch Allgood.
The Australian Prop forward joins the Capital club after playing for St George Illawarra in the NRL for the past two years.
Sydney born Allgood adds Super League experience to the London Broncos squad having played at Hull Kingston Rovers in 2015-16 before moving to Wakefield Trinity for the 2017 season.
His Rugby League career started at Parramatta Eels back in 2011 where he played 70 games for the NRL side making his debut against New Zealand Warriors.
Mitch told us, “It has taken a while to get everything done for me to get over here to be honest. Now that it is all done I can’t wait to get training with the team. I was very excited at the prospect of coming back to the UK and especially having the chance to play here at the Broncos. The way things ended here last time I felt I wanted to come back as I still had things I wanted to do.”
“I really have to thank Graham, my agent, for all his hard work in making this happen and as far as the fans go I cant wait to get out playing in front of them. I need to let them know that there will be three new fans out there now in my wife and my two little boys too.”
We asked what it would be like to play along side Kieran Dixon again and he told us, “I am definitely looking forward to that. He is a very exciting player to be on the field with and is a great bloke of it too. It’s always good to have someone you know when you enter a new environment. With that in mind, having just arrived, everyone has made me feel so welcome from players to staff to coaches and I just cannot wait now to get playing for such a great club as this is.”
“I followed the Broncos last year from Australia and obviously it came down to that last round but now I hope to be involved in a squad that can get back at the first time of asking and I will be hugely proud if we can do that this season.”
Broncos Head Coach, Danny Ward said, “Its great to finally have Mitch on board for the 2020 season. He brings plenty of Super League and NRL experience to the group and we are looking forward to working with him.”
Chairman David Hughes told us, “We are very happy that we managed to get this over the line and now have Mitch in our ranks for the 2020 season. He is a strong, athletic prop forward who will add experience to our pack for this Championship season. I am looking forward to seeing him pulling on the Broncos shirt and doing big things in the year ahead.”
Mitch will be sponsored by Gary & Fin Tetlow and is available for Corporate Player Sponsorship on request.
