Jamie Langley has named his side for Sunday’s home clash with Widnes Vikings.
Having previously only played a friendly against Hemel Stags at Trailfinders, the match will be the first in-season at home for the under 19s.
After suffering a 42-22 loss to Wakefield last week, the young side will be looking to make amendments, and Langley says they are looking forward to that chance: “Last week was disappointing – particularly the first half – we got a lot of technical things wrong which was uncharacteristic of us and Wakefield made us pay, but we had a chat at half time, and the boys really picked it up in the second half.
“Given Wakefield had 12 more sets in the first half, we did really well to fight back. Three of our four tries were scored in the second half, and I’m really proud of the boys for showing enough resilience to not let it fall away completely. They worked hard for each other, and didn’t give up which was encouraging.
“They’ve been training hard this week, and we’ve definitely put them through their paces. Hopefully we’ll see the results of that on the pitch this Sunday.”
