Northern based radio station, Live Sports FM, will provide live radio commentary of London Broncos away matches in 2017, beginning with the season opener against Swinton Lions this Sunday.
With a minimum of 12 Kingstone Press Championship away games during the 2017 season, the coverage will provide unprecedented access for fans based in the capital who are unable to travel north on a game day.
The broadcasts will also include members of the London Broncos playing squad providing expert insights as co-commentators, alongside the Live Sports FM team as and where possible, and will kick off with the help of James Cunningham at Heywood Road on the weekend.
“It’s absolutely brilliant for our fans,” said London’s head coach, Andrew Henderson.
“We understand that through varying reasons such as time and expense, it’s not always possible to travel to away games, and this coverage will give our fans a chance to still be able to tune in and to follow their club. It’s great to know that as well as the support we get from our travelling fans, that there’ll also be people cheering us on from home.
“I also know that some of the players families will enjoy listening in from different corners of the globe, too. Hopefully, we can give everyone plenty to cheer about this season.”
Head of Sport for Live Sports FM, Jonathan Pinfield, said how excited he is about the broadcasts: “We know how much London Broncos fans love their rugby league, but it’s not always easy to get to every match throughout the season.
“We’re looking forward to bringing fans unrivalled radio coverage of their away matches – and we’re sure it’s going to be an action-packed season”.
You can listen live to away matches this season from 2:30-5pm on match days, via the Listen Live button on the Live Sports FM website, and via the London Broncos Facebook and Twitter pages.
