London Broncos kept their chances of a top four finish alive with a 40-24 over a spirited Whitehaven side on Sunday afternoon.
Broncos opened up a 12-0 lead thanks to tries from Jason Walton (5) and Oscar Thomas (15), both converted by Wes Naiqama, before Whitehaven hit back with tries from Declan Hulme (21) and Chris Taylor (25), with just one converted. Two further scores just before half time, Matt Garside (36) and Iliess Macani (38), both converted by Naiqama helped the Broncos to a 24-10 lead at half time.
Whitehaven hit back in the second half to take the lead on 60 minutes with three consecutive tries, two from Hulme (51, 60) and one from James Newton (56) with just one converted by Grant Gore.
However two quick Broncos tries from Jamie Thackray (65), Jason Walton (69) with Naiqama converting one score ensured the Broncos finished strongly. A score from Oscar Thomas five minutes from time ensure the win for the Broncos with William Barthau kicking the conversion.
