London Broncos can today announce that young hooker, Matthew Davies, has re-signed for the club for one more year until the end of the 2019 Super League Season.
Davies who was on an apprenticeship contract while working with the London Rugby League Foundation and the Broncos Community programme has now signed a full time contract at the club.
Despite his age Matt has gained invaluable experience throughout 2018 culminating in the final pass of the Million Pound Game where Broncos gained their promotion to Super League.
Matt said, “I am really happy to be staying here at London Broncos for another year. Playing in the Million Pound game was a fantastic experience and I am now looking forward to hopefully making my Super League debut in 2019.
Head Coach Danny Ward said, “Matty has progressed very well this year and we are delighted to offer him a new deal. From rupturing a bicep in the pre-season trial to starring in the MPG, Matty certainly had a year he’ll never forget.”
“Another product of our Broncos academy system, he is a smart footballer who will benefit from another year in a full time environment.
David Hughes, Broncos Chairman told us, “Matt is another product of the fantastic Academy set up here at the club. He proved his worth last season and it will be exciting to see him at the next level this year.”
