London Broncos is delighted to announce the signing of talented 20 year old half back/hooker, Morgan Smith, from Warrington Wolves.
Smith joins the Broncos from The Wire on a one year deal for the 2019 Super League Season.
Smith achieved full-time status with Warrington at the start of the 2016 season after many impressive performances with the Under-19s, making his first appearance in May 2016 in a 70-10 Challenge Cup tie win against Oldham.
He made 25 appearances, in total, with 11 in 2018, mostly from the bench, as well as playing for Rochdale Hornets on loan and shows great promise for the future.
His career to date has also seen him represent the England Academy.
Smith told us, “I am very excited, obviously, to be given such a great opportunity. I know that I am a young player but I will be looking to force my way into the team. I had a taste of Super League at Warrington and cant wait to get started now with the boys here in London.”
Head Coach Danny Ward commented, “Morgan is an exciting, young, British half back who already brings with him Super League experience. He has come through the system at a top club and we are looking forward to working with him and continuing his development.
Broncos Chairman David Hughes said, ” We are very excited about signing Morgan who is an emerging talent with a big future in our game. We look forward to seeing him play here in London and I am sure there are great things to come from this young man.”
