London Broncos are delighted to announce the signing of 23 year old hooker/halfback, Matty Fozard on a two year deal from Championship side Sheffield Eagles.
The Welsh International joins the Broncos following a three year stint at the Sheffield club playing over 100 times at three different home grounds in the process.
Fozard said, “I’m ecstatic to be given the opportunity to play for the London Broncos for the next 2 seasons, it’s an even bigger privilege now that the team have successfully made back into Super League. I can’t thank Danny Ward and Graeme Taylor (agent) enough for allowing me this opportunity to be back playing at the elite level. I’m very eager to start my time at this club and can’t wait to meet all the boys, staff and the Broncos fans.”
The Widnes born player signed for the club before the Million Pound Game and said of the jump to Super League, ” Honestly I was like a little kid at Christmas, I was anxious but excited at the thought of seeing London back in Super League. All the boys on the day were outstanding and a credit to the club and fully deserved the promotion. My personal highlight was when Alex Walker held up Blake Wallace on the 70th minute. This showed the drive and determination to get back to where they belong. I was already thrilled about becoming a full time championship player however the promotion to Super League is literally the cherry on top and I can’t I wait to get started.”
Head Coach Danny Ward told us, “We have kept a close eye on Matty throughout the season & he has performed consistently well. He is young, hungry and will benefit massively from being in a full time environment.”
Chairman David Hughes said, ” Fozard has been on our radar all season and we are very excited to have another young hungry player within the ranks at London Broncos.”
