Selection headache for Henderson ahead of final

London Broncos head coach Andrew Henderson has admitted to having a selection headache ahead of Sunday’s Kingstone Press Championship Shield Final against Featherstone Rovers.

“I’ve a fair idea of what the 19-man squad is going to be but I’m not sure how the 17 is going to look,” admitted Henderson after watching his side train on the 3G pitch at Trailfinders Sports Club, which will be the Broncos training and playing home next season.

“There’s probably 20 players in the mix at the moment, I couldn’t tell you the 17. Most of the players pick themselves in the starting 13 but there’s a couple of decisions I need to make within that starting 13 as well as who’s on the bench as well.”

The squad familiarised¬†themselves with the artificial surface ahead of Sunday’s final on the Widnes i-Pitch.

“Once we found out we were in the final at Windes we thought it was a good move to bring the players down here,” said Henderson. “Plus it also freshens the players up a bit. What better way to prepare than to train on a similar surface.”

Tickets to the final are available now via the RFL ticket office, full details are available here.
