Smith re-signs for London

London Broncos is delighted to announce that half-back Morgan Smith has signed a new two year contract.

The halfback, who signed from Warrington Wolves during pre-season for 2019 has put pen to paper on a deal that will see the talented 21 year old remain in the capital for two more years.

Smith forced his way into the starting lineup for the Broncos early on in the season and has kept his place alongside Jordan Abdull in the halfback pairing for most of the 2019 season to date.

The London Broncos fans look at the talented youngster with affection as he kicked the Golden Point that gave the capital side the win over league leaders St Helens at Trailfinders back in June.

We spoke to Morgan about his decision to re-sign with the club.

“I have really enjoyed my time here at London Broncos and when I was given the chance to sign again I jumped at the chance. I came here for the opportunity to play regularly and that has been the case. I have to thank Danny Ward and Jamie Langley for giving me my chance here and I hope I have repaid their faith in me.”

“I took to the capital pretty quickly to be honest and the lads and staff here are great for anybody coming here as you are made to feel at home very quickly. A lot of us are in the same boat, being away from home, and there is a real togetherness which helps immensely.”

“I would like to thank the fans here in London too as they welcomed me in very early on. They are a really passionate group down here and make themselves heard whether home or away.”

Head Coach, Danny Ward told us, “Morgs is a good young English half and we are happy he has committed the next 2 years to the Broncos.
Since coming down, he has really bought into what we are about as a team and a club and has been improving each week.”

Chairman, David Hughes said, ” I am delighted that Morgan has decided to stay with us in London. We are very much of the opinion that we need players who really want to play and live in London and he epitomizes that feeling. He has improved with every game this year and I for one am excited to see him in the seasons to come.”
