The U19s lose out after a tough fight back

As the match got underway an error from kick off granted Bradford possession right by London’s line which they capitalised on, with Matt Chrimes crashing over from short range.

Both sides went set for set and London had looked to have found their feet until Bradford’s Josh Ricketts crossed in the corner and a successful conversion put Bradford in front 0-10. Only moments later, Bradford’s Luke Hooley also went over to further extend their lead, followed shortly by Bradford’s Ricketts crossing for his brace.

The Broncos then hit back with Callum Bustin getting over just before half time, to send both teams into the shed with the scores at 22-4.

The second half began and Bradford’s Evan Hodgson scored early on, making it even harder for London to come back. Thankfully, Louis Godfrey got over in the corner for the Broncos trying to spark the comeback.

Moments later Dan Hindmarsh crossed closing the gap a little more. Then Broncos’ captain Sid Adebyi got over to close the gap to only 12 points.

Bradford looked to have put the game to bed when Dan Sowerby also went over, but London hit back straight away through Callum Whitcombe.

Dan Hindmarsh crossed for his second with 10 minutes left and suddenly the comeback looked possible, but some good defence from Bradford and a try from Ricketts to complete his hat trick followed by a late drop goal left the score at 28-41 and the Broncos bitterly disappointed.

The U19s are next in action on Sunday 19th June against Warrington Wolves.
