A trio of Under 19s players have been given the opportunity to train with the London Broncos first team this week.
Ben Gray (19), Tuoyo Egodo (18) and Sadiq Adebiyi (18) have impressed this season in Danny Ward’s Under 19s side and been given the opportunity to train with the first team by head coach Andrew Henderson.
“It’s great and shows my hard work and determination has really paid off,” said Egodo (pictured), who first played for the Broncos at Under 15s level.
Egodo admits to being spurred on by seeing Matt Davis make the set up from the Under 19s to the first team.
“Obviously Matt is one of the boys and someone I look up to in the first team. It’s great to see there’s a pathway for us. I look up to other Under 19s players that have made the step up, they are all boys I’ve played with in the past and it’s great see them succeed and being part of the set up.
“It would mean the world to me to get into the first team, it’s something I’ve dreamed of.”
Head coach Andrew Henderson said: “We really value our youth system and players, and it’s important we reward and challenge those players that have been performing in our youth squads.
“There’s no guarantee of becoming a first team player but this is a great opportunity for those players to experience the first team environment in terms of levels of intensity and what’s expected as well as allowing myself and the coaching staff to see where they are at in this stage of their development.
“Hopefully those players will take something from this experience and use it when they return to the Academy environment.”
