U19s lose to Huddersfield after frustrating performance from the young side

A tough first half for both sides, and with the scores a level 12-12 at half time, the game looked to be anyone’s.

Jamie Greenwood granted Huddersfield an early lead just three minutes in, but the Broncos hit back only moments later when Jordan Williams crossed for his first try of the match.

Tension built and the game became an arm wrestle, with both teams going set for set, and a few errors on either side. Eventually Huddersfield cracked, and Jordan Williams went over the white wash for his second.

Broncos immediately let Huddersfield straight back into the game, with a try from Jake Wardle 26 minutes in. The remainder of the first half played out with London looking nervy, but they held on to draw 12-12 at the half time stage.

As the second half got under way, Sam Wood sliced through London’s defence, and opened his try scoring account. Just moments later Harry Woollard went across for his first try of the game also.

The Broncos did well to keep Huddersfield out for a period of time, and held the majority of the ball in Huddersfield’s half, however the Giants cracked their defence again, and Sam Wood went over for his second.

Broncos fought to no avail to keep Huddersfield at bay, and Harry Woollard barged across for his second.

As the game was drawing to an end, London were trying everything they could to restore some confidence, however Sam Wood once again found his way through the Broncos’ defence, scoring on the 76th minute mark to complete his hat trick. Broncos then scored in the last minute through Gideon Boafo.

The under 19s face Wigan Warriors in their next round.
