U19s suffer as Leeds run away with the victory

The match started with a regathering of the ball from Leeds as the strong wind held the ball up, which allowed them to regain the ball straight from kick off. Joe Sanders scored early on for the Rhinos, and Jordan Williams did the same for London, to put the scores at 6-4 in the Rhinos’ favour.

Shortly after, Joe Sanders got his brace, and subsequently converted it to make it 12-6 to the home side.

London soon hit back – this time with big Lewis Bienek for his first try of the game as he muscled his way over the line!

Some good vision from the Leeds hooker, Harvey Whitely, saw him find the whitewash soon after, closely followed by teammate Jack Norfolk. A late penalty goal from the Broncos saw the teams go in at half time with the scores at 24-10.

Alex Sutcliffe of the Leeds Rhinos opened the scoring in the second half, after breaking away just inside London’s half.

Broncos’ captain Sid Adebyi soon got some points back on the scoreboard for his team, making it 30-16.

Leeds then scored four tries in quick succession with Sam Hallas, Jack Walker, Jack Norfolk and Tommy Brierley all crossing to put Leeds 54-18 ahead.

The comeback now looking impossible for the Broncos, the side did manage to regain some dignity late on as big Lewis Bienek muscled his way over for his brace.

The U19s next game is home to Wigan Warriors at Ealing Trailfinders on the 16th July.
