Where there’s a Will theres a way.

London Broncos are delighted to announce the signing, on a one year deal, of London Broncos Ex-Academy player and old boy Will Lovell.

Lovell was on trial with the club before the 2016 season but unfortunately got injured in the last week and subsequently did not sign. Since then Will has been looked after by the club and has been an integral part of the community project.

We asked Will how it felt to be at the right end of a somewhat perilous journey.

“It looked like a very dark road at one point”, Will said, “I am so glad to be on the right side of that now and feel so much stronger both mentally and physically for it”.

“I have had so much support especially from John Keyes and the club all the way through my rehab and now am over the moon to be finally fit enough to join the squad for this season. I will still do the community work which I thoroughly enjoy and I am also at St Marys University so it all ties in well.”

“Danny Ward has been fantastic with me as he said in pre-season he was willing to give me a trial and since then I have proved that I am still hungry for the game and hungry to put the Broncos colours back on again”.

Will last played in the shirt back at The Hive and is looking forward to playing with old teammates again, “Kieran Dixon, Michael Channing and myself all came though the Academy at the same time and all lived together for a time too so I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch with them. Its also a bit weird having known the bulk of the squad for nearly two years now but never played with them but the transition into the squad has been very easy.”

Head Coach Danny Ward said, “Will has really impressed during the trial here in pre-season. He has been on our radar since he played for London Skolars and all credit to him for keeping in such good shape during his difficult injuries. We decided, having watched him this last few weeks, that we were happy to offer him a contract. He can offer something different, due to his size, on the edges and at the end of the day Will is one of us and is London Broncos through and through.”
