Williams: We’re not taking Whitehaven lightly

London Broncos winger Rhys Williams said the side are not taking Whitehaven lightly after a two point loss earlier in the season to the Cumbrian side.

“The loss against Halifax is disappointing and we have to move forwards,” said Williams. “We’ve got four games to go and we really need to win them all to put ourselves in a position to finish in the top four.”

“We’ve got some tough games coming up. Whitehaven this weekend will be tough, they beat us at home earlier in the season and we’re not taking them lightly. We’ve got the likes of Dewsbury, Workington and Sheffield which will have a baring on where we finish but we’re concentrating on this weekend.

“We didn’t turn up at the races on Saturday and on our day we’re more than capable of beating Halifax but credit to them they came out with more enthusiasm and wanted it. We need to be more focused and know our roles better.”

Williams, who took his try tally to 16 for the season feels his personal form is good but he’d sacrifice personal tries for team wins.

“Personally I feel I’m going okay, I’m scoring tries which is my job so I’m please about that. It’s more about the team performance, if I’m scoring tries and the team win it’s all good, if I don’t score and we win and we still get in the top four I’m be more than happy.”
