Player Biography


Lewis Bienek is a prop who rejoined the Broncos in 2022. Lewis had a fantastic 2023 season, winning coaches’ player of the year after making 25 appearances in all competitions. From Sidcup, Lewis is a product of the London Broncos academy and made his professional debut with the club on August 14th, 2016 in London’s 76-16 victory over Batley Bulldogs in the Super 8’s qualifiers. 


Aside from playing at the Broncos as his permanent club (2016-2018, 2022-present), Lewis spent 2 seasons on loan at Oxford (2016-2017) before making a permanent move to Hull FC. Whilst at Hull FC, Lewis went back on loan to the Broncos (2018) in addition to loan spells at Doncaster (2018), Batley Bulldogs (2019), & Leigh Centurions (2020). Lewis then spent a year with Castleford Tigers (2021) before returning to London to play for the Broncos. 


Lewis made his 2024 debut in London’s victory over Hull FC after returning from an injury which had kept him out of the first 11 weeks of the season.

Lewis Bienek to return to matchday squad following injury London Broncos prop Lewis Bienek is set to return to the matchday squad against Hull FC on Sunday (12th May) following a serious ankle injury that was picked up in pre-season.

Born in Preston, Lancashire Josh Rourke was a talented sportsman from an early age. His first introduction to rugby league was when his dad would take him to watch Wigan Warriors aged 4 however his interests and talent saw him signed for local football side Preston North End. Tall and quick with an eye for goal he was a talented forward but when he was released by his hometown club, which by his own admission, “broke his heart” he decided to turn his attention more to rugby league. Joining Chorley Rugby League at the age of 10 Rourke spent a large part of his teenage years at his local club where he would often play football on a Sunday morning before a rugby game in the afternoon. At 14 he signed a scholarship at Widnes Vikings initially playing as either a hooker or half-back. Rourke would spend 2 years at the club before more heartbreak when he was released. At that point Rourke rejoined Chorley so he could continue to play but more for fun “with friends”. It was at this point he began to play full-b
