James Booth • 25 April 2024

London Broncos are delighted to work together with LIT7s to enjoy as much rugby as possible in Wimbledon on the May bank holiday weekend!

Our home, The Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane, will be hosting the LIT7s London 7s on Saturday, 25 May (the day before London Broncos vs Hull KR) featuring Rugby 7s teams from 12 countries including GB, Fiji, Ireland, and Jamaica.

James Haskell Announced as Headliner for LIT7s London 7s After Party

James Haskell will be headlining the After Party of LIT7s London 7s at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane on Saturday 25th May 2024.

James Haskell needs no introduction to rugby fans, having been capped by England 77 times and had a distinguished player career at both Wasps and Northampton Saints, as well as internationally in New Zealand, Japan and France. Since retiring, Haskell has taken the club scene by storm, having DJed in Ibiza and at The Ministry of Sound, and is set to do the same at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane.

LIT7s London 7s will unfold at The Cherry Red Records Stadium home for London Broncos Super League home games. Notably, this marks the first time an international 7s rugby tournament will grace the Stadium. The tournament will have a great party atmosphere, featuring special guest pitch side hosts, celebrity DJs, the ultimate party stand, and electrifying entertainment both on and off the pitch.

Tickets to LIT7s are available now for just £27 for adults and £15 for children. Click this link to get your tickets now: https://shorturl.at/R1467.

MIKE ECCLES: “Things will get better this season.” London Broncos Director of Rugby & Performance Mike Eccles has assured fans that better things are on the horizon after a sticky period of form. It has been a tough run of results with three consecutive results but also injuries and unavailability of dual-registration players has meant Mike Eccles has been operating with the bare minimum in terms of players available for selection. The run doesn’t get any easier as this weekend Broncos are on the road again but this time to the league leaders Halifax Panthers on Sunday.

MATCH PREVIEW: Barrow Raiders vs London Broncos London Broncos have their longest away trip on UK soil this week as they make the trip up to Cumbria to take on Barrow Raiders. Broncos have lost their last two games and last three away games so will be looking to bounce back with a win on Good Friday. Mike Eccles’ side were a matter of seconds away from victory against Batley Bulldogs at The Cherry Red Records but suffered heartbreak as Alfie Dean scored in the final play to send the Bulldogs back to West Yorkshire with the points. Barrow have enjoyed a good start to the season and come into this game off the back of a good win at Widnes Vikings with a 37-12 win. It means in the early stages of the season after 6 games the Raiders have won 4 and currently sit in 4th place.
