Matt Ross signs deal after successful trial


London Broncos are delighted to announce Matt Ross has signed a permanent deal with the club after a successful trial.


The 32-year-old Welsh International has been training with Mike Eccles side since the start of pre-season in the hope of earning a deal.


Ross, who plays as a middle, came through the academy at Keighley Cougars and has played at both London Skolars and Cornwall.


Speaking to London Broncos media, Ross said he was really happy to get the deal;


“It’s been really good and really tough. Mike works us really hard but it’s been good and it’s good to finally get the trial over the line when I get the call from Mike with the good news.”

ON THIS DAY: 02.02.2020 Five years ago today London Broncos made the trip to face Bradford Bulls in Dewsbury. Broncos took the points with a 14-18 win. Tries; Armitage, Butler, Dawson-Jones x2 The Broncos will face Bradford Bulls in the first round of this season's Championship season on February 16th. Tickets for this game will be made available very soon.

London Broncos sign Christopher Hellec London Broncos are delighted to announce the signing of French back Christopher Hellec who joins subject to receiving a visa. The 29-year-old has spent his entire career playing in his native France and in the last few seasons has played in their top competition becoming a regular try scorer for the likes of; Albi and most recently Saint Gaudens. Hellec, who can play in a variety of positions in the backs, is equally adept with the boot and will offer excellent competition for kicking duties.

Rock 2 Recovery is a charitable organisation that works closely with the Armed Forces and emergency services. We believe this is an exciting partnership which will see the two organisations collaborate on a number of initiatives and further strengthen the links between Rugby League and the Armed Forces. As part of the first step to mark the partnership London Broncos are delighted to announce that clients of Rock 2 Recovery will be invited to our first home league game of the season as they celebrate their 10 year anniversary. Will Lovell & Alex Walker named captain & vice-captain Mike Eccles has confirmed that Will Lovell will continue as captain, a role which he has held since 2020, but has also announced that Alex Walker has been named vice-captain. The pair are the two longest serving members of the London Broncos squad having made their debuts in 2012 & 2014 respectively. Since making their debuts they have been involved in two successful promotions from the Championship and now sit 4th and 5th all-time for London Broncos appearances. Speaking on being named vice-captain, Walker says its a significant stage in his career to step up to a senior role; “It’s a massive honour and a privilege to step up this year in more of a leadership role and I am really looking forward to this season ahead!” For Lovell, the 31-year-old is named as club captain for a 5th successive year, a role which he is honoured to have; “I am always very proud to represent the club - I look forward to the challenge ahead this year in the Championship. “To be Captain of this great club is a huge honour and I thank Mike for his trust once again.” #WeAreLondon
