The Broncos have picked up some form over past few weeks and are now joint bottom with Hull FC after winning three games this season, 2 vs Hull FC & 1 vs Catalans Dragons. Sunday’s fixture could prove an excellent opportunity to use the momentum which the lads have built to push themselves off the bottom spot in the Super League table for the first time this season.
Leigh Leopards have had a positive season so far in the Super League, winning 11 games, losing 10 & drawing 1 vs Castleford Tigers and have a chance at pushing themselves into the playoff places if they win the remaining regular season fixtures this season. Leigh have also had a good run of form in the past few weeks, winning 6 of their last 7 including their 26-0 dismantling of Salford Red Devils last weekend at Magic Weekend.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Broncos Director of Rugby & Performance Mike Eccles says “It’s an almighty challenge. I think Leigh are fantastic team. Every team in Super League is a good team but you can get hampered by injuries and what not so I think if Leigh make the playoffs, everybody will want to avoid them.
“We have a plan. We played them not too long ago, so we have had a look at that game in conjunction with their recent games as well.
“The team might look different this week. There has been a few bumps and bruises from last week. We will have a look tonight; we don’t want to overly damage anybody going forward.”

Also speaking to Broncos media is reserves player Jensen Monk who says “The season has been a bit up and down really, I got injured early on and spent three months on the side-lines but since I have been back and had a run of a few good games.
“Coming into a full-time environment has definitely helped me and where I have been from preseason, I have definitely kicked on. I have picked up a lot of information on the field with the boys.
“It is a lot quicker pace in the Super League and the physicality is there so you have to be switched on or these teams will all punish you.”
