Adebiyi back for 2025

London Broncos are delighted to announce that Sadiq Adebiyi will return to the club for the 2025 Championship season.

‘Sid’ is a product of the club's academy and across two spells at the club has played 68 times and scored 12 tries.

During 2024’s Super League season ‘Sid’ was a regular performer, playing 21 times and scoring his sole try of the season in the away game against Huddersfield Giants.

Speaking to London Broncos media, the 27-year old said he was looking forward to helping to club rebuild next season;

“I'm happy to be staying at London and with this club, even in these challenging times. I believe in the potential of this team and the passion of our supporters.

“Together, we can work to rebuild and aim for a swift return to the top. I'm committed to giving my all and helping the club navigate this journey."

Adebiyi joins Marcus Stock, Lewis Bienek, and Harry Stevens who have committed their futures to the club for the 2025 season.

Celebrating our homegrown talent from 2024 London Broncos are proud of their track record of producing talent from within the capital and its surrounding areas. As the South of England's only professional club we believe it's important to provide inspiration to youngsters that a pathway exists to play Rugby League for the London Broncos. In 2023 London Broncos were promoted from the Championship without a single northern born player. In the 2024 Super League season we fielded 20 homegrown or southern born players. Let's take a closer look at those players from last season;

London Broncos announce positive IMG grading for 2025 London Broncos can today announce their IMG grading for the upcoming 2025 season is 12.65. This score will see the club rise from 24th to 14th, in what is a hugely positive step made by the club. Our indicative grading ahead of the 2024 season was 8.07 so the increase to 12.65 is a more than 50% increase which we believe to be the biggest made by any club this year. Speaking on today’s news, London Broncos Chief Executive Jason Loubser said; “This is a strong reflection of the hard work that has been put in by the club as a whole since the indicative gradings were announced last year. “We recently discussed our plans of building back towards Super League in the next two years and we believe today’s announcement backs up our belief that this is a realistic ambition. “Clearly we have immediate obstacles to overcome to compete in the upcoming Championship season but we hope our ranking of 14th will encourage fans and potential sponsors and investors to join us on our journey.”

How can you help London Broncos? London Broncos are currently trying to raise enough money so that they can continue to compete as a professional Rugby League side. The figure needed to raise is roughly £900k which will predominantly pay for; ground rent at AFC Wimbledon, players and staff. The club have communicated how they plan to raise this figure with it now being a race against time to get a squad in place before the new season begins in February 2025. Currently the best way to do that is to buy a ‘Back the Broncos Membership’ for the upcoming season, which for £175 will get you access to every home fixture for the mens and womens team; plus an exclusive gift and discounts in the club store. These can be purchased from HERE!

What was said at the London Broncos Fans Forum? On Monday 21st October London Broncos held a fans forum at the By The Horns pub at Plough Lane as the clubs current challenges were discussed. On the panel were Chief Executive Jason Loubser and Director of Rugby & Performance Mike Eccles. Q: When we came to the Cherry Red, I believe it was a five year deal but after two years both parties could take a step back. Where are we at this time with staying here? A (Jason Loubser): It was a ten year deal with a break clause coming after three and this is year three. We’ve been in constant communication with Wimbledon, they very much want us to stay and we very much want to stay. I met their MD last week and we are making plans to be here next season. Q: Is there a point where we have to go to the RFL and say we haven’t got sufficient funds - is there a deadline? A: (Jason Loubser): They’ve not given us a definite deadline. We had to submit the fixtures request, which we did last week. So other than that we are just following the normal procedure, what we would do every year. After the (championship) Grand Final on Saturday and the gradings announcement on Wednesday we will then get told but they haven’t given us a deadline.
