Player Biography

Alex Walker  is full-back and a product of the London Broncos academy and has made his debut in 2014 against Bradford Bulls.

A club legend who ranks as one of the clubs all time record appearance holders and try scorers Alex has been an ever present whenever he has been available for selection.

Walker became a club legend after a try-saving tackle in the 70th minute of the Million Pound Game against Toronto Wolfpack - this was despite breaking one and dislocating three fingers in the very minute of the match.

Following relegation in 2019 from Super League Alex left to join Wakefield Trinity. Following a loan spell at Featherstone Rovers in 2021 Walker rejoined London Broncos at the start of the 2022 season.

Will Lovell & Alex Walker named captain & vice-captain Mike Eccles has confirmed that Will Lovell will continue as captain, a role which he has held since 2020, but has also announced that Alex Walker has been named vice-captain. The pair are the two longest serving members of the London Broncos squad having made their debuts in 2012 & 2014 respectively. Since making their debuts they have been involved in two successful promotions from the Championship and now sit 4th and 5th all-time for London Broncos appearances. Speaking on being named vice-captain, Walker says its a significant stage in his career to step up to a senior role; “It’s a massive honour and a privilege to step up this year in more of a leadership role and I am really looking forward to this season ahead!” For Lovell, the 31-year-old is named as club captain for a 5th successive year, a role which he is honoured to have; “I am always very proud to represent the club - I look forward to the challenge ahead this year in the Championship. “To be Captain of this great club is a huge honour and I thank Mike for his trust once again.” #WeAreLondon

Alex Walker aiming for top spot! As we head into a brand new season there will undoubtedly be many twists and turns ahead but two things that have been a fixture for a combined 343 appearances is Alex Walker and Will Lovell. The pair graduated from the London Broncos academy, Will first in 2012, and then Alex in 2014 and despite both spending two years away from the club in the middle of their careers, they have been two names that have been at the club for countless highs and even some lows. Steele Retchless is the man who sits proudly at the top of the record appearance list with 201 outings in a Broncos shirt between the years of 1998 and 2004. Chad Randall and Rob Purdham both fell just short of 201 tied with 197 but then there is Will Lovell on 173 and Alex Walker on 170.
